Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 48/1000 of an inch thickness(1.22mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. The gold standard 5 Star Review

Every pick has a sound, and they all have a place with whatever you’re trying to express. But as far as a tool that gives me control over speed, dynamics, and overall residence extraction from my Guitar, this pick really is it. The economics of it just feel so intuitive, and it’s kind of just become a part of my instrument.

  2. Worth every penny! 5 Star Review

I know I was a good bit skeptical at first, but after being able to actually use this pick I saw right away what all the fuss is all about. I love the tone, the feel, and how it seems to make my picking hand more accurate

  3. best I’ve ever tried 5 Star Review

Was very concerned about spending 35 bucks on a pick but glad I did and have no problem buying another one

  4. Makes My Martin HD-28V Sing Like A Bird 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jul 2025

This is my second review. I lost my first TP-48 the second day after I bought it. I had some spare change in my pocket and put it into a charity donation pot. I forgot that my pick was in my pocket too. So I hope it went to someone who appreciated it.

I've since bought 3 more and intend to give 2 away as gifts. I like this pick so much that I've thrown away all my other picks. This pick really makes my Martin HD-28V sing like a bird. Especially for Neal Young tunes, David Bowie's Space Oddity, plus Zeppelin's Over The Hill And Far Away.

Doesn’t get any better for flatpicking!

  6. do it 5 Star Review

I waited for a couple years to buy this pick. The price point is justified. Wish I bought one sooner. It’s a thick heavy pick that plays fast. I prefer the tone over a more flexible pick.

  7. Everything they said it was 5 Star Review

Total game changer as far as helping my amateur technique. Been playing 47+ years and this has been the biggest help (next to great teachers). I'm sure I'll be trying some more at some point -- thumbpicks look like the next purchase.

  8. Picky, picky ! 5 Star Review

TP-48 Best Pick that I’ve ever played with and have a mason jar full of picks that I used over the last 60 years to compare it to. Just the best!

  9. Best Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jul 2025

I had been using Dunlop Ultex picks for many years until I heard about Blue Chip picks. Since John Mayer and Billy Strings used them there had to be something special going on. So I thought I'd give them a try. I bought a TP48 with right hand speed bevel. After 2 strums on my Martin HD28V I was hooked. I could tell right away that this pick was the real deal. The clarity of tone and note separation were immediately noticeable. My Martin sounds good with any pick, but now it sounds great. Unfortunately, I lost my pick the very next day after it arrived. Not to worry, I just ordered 3 more. I refuse to play my guitar again until the new picks arrive. I'm patient, because currently there is a bit of a backlog. But I do know one thing now - don't lose the pick! They will be your best friends for life.
