  1. Attack, speed, control, tone shaping 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jul 2025

The deep speed bevel provides consistent and considerable attack while the material provides evenness of tone. Since the speed bevel is carved into a thick pick and is thin at the edges, this pick provides the control of a thick pick and additional advantages from slightly thinner picks as well. It's one of those guitar moments, realizing that something as simple as a pick reawakens new interest and opens sonic possibilities. Ultimately, it's the level of control that I find very useful.

  2. Superlative Guitar Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jul 2025

Like many guitarists, I made do with cheap, high-wear, low-performance picks for way too many years.

There had to be something better, right?

A few years ago I discovered buffalo horn picks, and liked the feel and tone, but found they wear pretty quickly, and lose their shape.

Fast forward over a few other failed experiments to 2025: the year I (somehow) discover Blue Chip.

    Let's break it down:

    FEEL

They immediately feel right to me, being smooth but NOT slippery. Very comfortable. The bevel (I chose Speed Bevel Right Hand) is beautifully done, and it extends around the top of the pick, if you ever want to use the 'blunt' edge for gentle strums, for instance.

    SOUND

Tonally they are GREAT! That glassy smooth bevelled edge glides off the strings like nothing else, producing a rounded tone with a nice bass, and with significantly reduced string noise. You'll hear it. You may even find yourself not backing off on the tone pot for mellow sounds, because the problem - all along - was the cheap plastic pick you were putting up with.

    DURABILITY

I have used my Blue Chip solidly for over a week now, and see not even a hint of scratching on the bevel. Looks brand new. I read that other players have used theirs for years with no detectable wear. Physics says there must be "some" wear, but it is clearly minimal / undetectable at this point.

    VALUE

Let's face it - many of us spare no expense with our all-consuming passion for guitars; we save our pennies for great pickups, top-notch hardware, and additional instruments.

Why compromise all that outlay with a low quality pick? It's what connects you to your instrument, after all.

Yes, these picks are expensive, but so is the material they are made from. The price is absolutely fair.

If - as I anticipate - I get many years of great service from my Blue Chip, it will save me money, and every time I play guitar it will be even more of a pleasure.

    SERVICE

Blue Chip are super helpful, really friendly, and answer your emails. Great people, who deserve all the support and acclaim they are getting.

My pick arrived in good time in the UK.

If you are sitting on the fence, just buy one!

  3. Worth The Wait 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jul 2025

“Wow!” was the first word that naturally came out of my mouth when I played this pick. I’ve watched YouTube video reviews and the Wall Street Journal video and they’re great, but I still wondered how it played and sounded - Wow! We spend a so much time and money pursuing our sound and our passion on our instruments. Why skimp on a cheap pick? The Blue Chip pick is easily worth the investment. Thank you!

  4. Indeed The Best Guitar Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Jul 2025

Over the years I have been searching for a great guitar pick. I've tested a multitude of brands, thicknesses, and styles of picks. I eventually landed on a 2mm thick jazz style pick for the last decade or so. When I found out about Blue Chip Picks, I decided to order what I considered to be a combination of the jazz pick thickness with the traditional shape a beveled edges.

This Blue Chip Pick is soo good that I bought a leather pouch for it and carry it with me every day. It's the only pick I will play with moving forward.

  5. Finally found my ultimate pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2025

The plectrum is a big part of one’s tone and technique. I have bought every possible plectrum out there I have spent a lot of money. I finally found my holy grail pick! You can even have it engraved. I am extremely happy with my purchase and i will by more. It may seem expensive, but if you calculate all the money I have spent the price is very reasonable for what your getting. The person I dealt with on my purchases knows what they are doing. If you have been searching for the real deal, don’t hesitate and buy some. You won’t regret it. I guarantee it!!!!

  6. Fantastic for ethnic strings / non traditional use 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Feb 2024

Already have 3 other BC picks, for mandolin, etc. Needed something a bit heavier for playing Persian Tar and Turkish Saz (look it up) and this one fits the bill perfectly. Tremolos are much easier, beautiful full tone, perfect weight in my hand, non-slip. Expensive, but worth it.

  7. My third and counting 4 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Oct 2023

Well, I have more than half of all boutique picks. I also have 2 organic picks, one of which remains the benchmark. My CT 55 and TP60 with speed bevels had a thin tone. Yet, I recognized the unique desirable qualities of the BC material. My TD80 round bevel does get the fatter tone + sizzle up top, but is slower off the strings. Still looking for the magical shape+thickness+bevel combination! Will buy at least another couple BCs before I'm done!

  8. cant wait to buy another 5 Star Review

Best pick ive ever used after 25 years of playing

  9. total game changer 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Feb 2023

When i first bought this pick i figured no way it could live up to the price tag. My lord how wrong i was. The pick instantly improved my speed and accuracy and most importantly made me feel closer to the guitar. It feels weightless yet grippy and you don’t even notice it’s in your hand. These aspects have drastically increased my level of musical inspiration which is honestly priceless. I cannot say enough about bluechip picks, they will do more for your technique and tone than just about any other piece of gear.
