Product Description

The XR is a large rounded pick with two different corners to pick from. The XR has a smooth rounded bevel. This is the XR in a 60/1000ths of an inch thickness(1.50mm). All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a universal rounded bevel.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

Thanks for the speedy service. I love my new pick.

  2. Very Mellow 5 Star Review

This pick is excellent for bluegrass guitar. I own a 40, 45 & 50 in other styles, but this one will probably end up as my favorite. It's mellow sound across the medium gauge strings on my Martin HD28V is very Tony Rice sounding. Beveled edges make gliding across the strings very easy. Blue Chip rocks!!!!!!!!

  3. Wunnerfulla, Wunnerfulla !! 5 Star Review

I enjoy playing some mandolin, and everyone has their own style of tremolo picking. This pick is as good, if not the best, of any pick of this style that I have used. It has a very nice smooth attack and release, and the "grip" of the material allow for a more relaxed picking hand and wrist. I started using this style of pick years ago with the Grisman signature picks and I found them to be rather versatile for a variety of playing styles. This pick also functions well as an all-around large, round cornered pick suitable for any style of playing. The material appears to be exceptionally abrasion resistant, so, if one can avoid losing the pick, years of use should justify the expense.

  4. Nice pick ... not much better than the ****, though 4 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jan 2015

This is a nice pick ... it's about the size and shape of the **** pick (though with a very slightly more narrow tip, which I like). I produces a nice warm and full tone. I have to say, though, for the price, I'm not sure it's really much better than the **** pick. In the end, I'm probably going to stick to the latter.

  5. Best of the bunch 5 Star Review

I've tried all the standard pick makers as well as several Blue Chip models. While I do like all the Blue Chip models I've tried, I have found the Blue Chip XR60 to be the best pick I've ever used. The tone is perfect for my style of playing (not too bright, not too dark). It has the best chop I've ever heard and is surprisingly fast and articulate as well.

  6. Loyal Customer 5 Star Review

The Blue Chip XR60 is the perfect pick for my style of mandolin playing. Great feel, solid chop, round enough for a nice flutter but sharp enough for individual notes to cut through. Can't live without it!
