Product Overview

The TPR is our classic TP pick with corners that are slightly round in a 60/1000th of an inch(1.50mm) thickness.  Our picks are all precision machined and hand beveled for the highest quality.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

    Complex pick for advancing players

Posted by Dan Jacobs on 4th Jan 2023

I didn't immediately adapt to using my first TPR60, but once I reordered with the speed bevel everything clicked. I play acoustic jazz and bluegrass, and I've become much more attuned to my pick attack and technique because of the TPR60. It reminds me of playing a telecaster, wherein there's no room for flaws in the sound, but if you play well you can get some incredible one of a kind tones.

Perfect for me. I like the size stiffness and the grip.

    the best

It’s my favorite. Every pick holds a different purpose, but I’d be happy with this one if all my others disappear. The five watt world YouTube channel turned me on to these. Love them so much. The pick. Well, the channel too…

    Blue Chip TPR60

Posted by Drew on 12th Jan 2022

I have owned a lot of great picks including various sizes and thicknesses of the best of every kind of pick made. I chose the TPR60 with a rounded edge as I wanted the power and low end of the 60 thickness but with the warmer tone of the rounded edge. I think I’ll add a TPR50 rounded for a little less low end when the mood suits me.

    great picks

Great pick. I feel that the pick being a little smaller, gets me a little closer to the strings and gives me a little better right hand control. This pick does that and is really smooth coming off the strings.

Find the model that plays and sounds best on each specific instrument

Posted by Kevin Christianson on 31st May 2021

BC picks have a superior playability due to the beveled end and durability of the material. But thickness and the type of corner / end are crucial for success. Not all BC picks work great on all acoustic instruments equally. Thinner picks (40) have a brighter sound and thicker ones (50/60) have a darker sound. But on some instruments the thicker picks produce a lot of ticky-tacky pick noise. It also depends on the type of strings. So after having experimented with 40, 50, and 60 TPRs and TADs I've moved away from the brighter 40s. I would NEVER use a pointed pick on a mandolin unless I was doing jig-music (or pretending I was a leprechaun).

    TPR 60 pick

Posted by Jim Eaton on 16th Mar 2021

This is the third style of pick I have purchased from Blue Chip. I use them with my mandolin and have found that this pick is the most versatile of the three. I sometimes have trouble with strumming using a pick with a sharp point and this pick has great action through the strings while still having a crisp enough edge for picking

I’ve been playing TPR60 for a long time now - every once in a while I try something different & I’ve never made it longer than 15 minutes before switching back to the TPR
