Product Description

The TPR is our classic TP pick with corners that are slightly round in a 50/1000th of an inch(1.25mm) thickness.  Our picks are all precision machined and hand beveled for the highest quality.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

Play both guitar and mandolin with TPR 50 picks.....best sound, best durability, best shape for me.

  2. So good I bought more 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jan 2022

I tried a few different shapes and thicknesses before settling on the pick that works best for me; the TPR50. I like the pick so much, I ordered two more just in case. With so much invested in our instruments and the pursuit of great tone, it is a small investment that has a huge impact.

  3. Jazzer Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Dec 2021

I decided to create a chord melody/jazz pick. Real smooth. I got the TPR, all rounded. I also got no speed bevel. Jackpot! I immediately bought another, this time a TPR 60.

  4. great pick! 5 Star Review

Great pick! I think the smaller pick gets me closer to the strings and gives me more control. Bluechip gives me great tone and is smooth.

  5. excellent puck 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jul 2021

I received my pick for Father’s Day this year and I was completely blown away by the increase in volume and the warm tone. I love it. It sounds like I have a pickup in my mandolin.
They are not cheap but my kids bought for me. I love having kids with jobs.
Great product and hope to get one for my guitar in the future.

  6. Tone Monster 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Mar 2021

For jazz, slightly smaller size is manageable, but the rounder edge pulls a slightly darker, mellower tone from my flat tops, arch tops and solid electric. But, the clarity & definition are noticeable. This pick doesn't thin the sound or make it harsh—volume without sacrificing warmth.

  7. Love this pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Mar 2021

I have always played with standard teardrop shaped flatpicks in the past, but after hearing other players use the TPR-50 I had to give this pick a try. It produces a wonderful fat sound that really sounds great. The rounded corners also makes it easier to play at faster tempos, and the triangle shape reduces the time spent positioning the pick in your hand.

  8. Versatile pick 5 Star Review

I play a Collings C100 w/ sitka top and rosewood b&s, and it has a bright, punchy sound. I also tend to play with a louder attack than many of my guitarist friends. The popular bluegrass style picks I'd been using accentuated the overtones nicely but it was harder to get a darker tone when I needed it, and tended to be too harsh for strumming. The TPR 50 solved all these problems. It can produce a bright tone when played completely flat, but at an angle warms up beautifully. Overall I'm able to get a wider range of tones and a bigger dynamic range. It essentially makes it easier to get the sounds in my head to come through the guitar. I think that's about all we can ask for out of a pick.

  9. Awesome pick - Love it! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Feb 2020

I bought this pick after hearing it recommended by another player. I have a mahogany OM sized guitar that I wanted to use it with. This guitar is strung with light gauge strings and I wasn't sure how it would sound with this pick. I shouldn't have worried. This pick delivers fantastic sound for both lead and rhythm playing. I love it!

  10. Thank you Kenny Smith!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Jan 2020

For years I had been searching for a pick that I connected with,..something that let me go where I wanted on my Flat-top. In 2017 I was at camp (MBC) where Kenny Smith was the Guitar instructor. He let me try his and I was hooked!! I tried a few other sizes and styles and settled on the TPR50. I now have a few of them with my name engraved. The material is such that the tone is perfect, they slide perfect, and they simply don't wear out!! Amazing product!! Thank you Bluechip and Kenny Smith!!
