Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 50/1000 of an inch thickness(1.25mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. It's worth the money 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Dec 2012

I'm a novice guitar player, playing mostly bluegrass. I've tried 100's of inexpensive picks and could never find one that satisfied me for one reason or another. I've been curious about Blue Chip picks for a long time but thought there's no way a pick is good enough to pay that much money for one. Then a friend loaned me his at a bluegrass jam and I was hooked. I first ordered a TAD 50 which I like but wanted to try a slightly smaller pick so I ordered a TP50. I prefer the size of the TP50 best. If you don't own a Blue Chip and have been thinking of trying one, you won't be disappointed.

  2. I am convinced. 5 Star Review

I wasn't too impressed when I first played it on my acoustic. But when I tried it on my strat, boy.. it was just unbelievable. That sort of like finger picked tone I was searching for, it was right there! Simply amazing..

  3. Haven't tried tortoise but... 5 Star Review

I really could not be happier with this pick. I've played mandolin for about 5 years now and have only in the last couple years started really trying to find a perfect pick instead of jut using what's around - I needed something between a pointed triangular .80mm clayton for precision, and the jazz mando pick for body (both in thickness and in sound)

The TP 50 is exactly what I was looking for - it's slightly thinner than the jazz mando pick, and also more pointed; it's also thicker than the clayton so no snapping, and slightly smaller so my pick noise on the fretboard extension is diminished.

This is all in addition to the oddly sticky grip one has on this pick, it glides so smoothly over any number of strings, but it just DOESN'T move in my fingers. I would absolutely buy another one of these... whether I lose this one or not.

  4. was not sure what to expect 5 Star Review

my father's day gift this year. when it came in the mail I got my HD28V out and wow!!
I do alot of flat picking with some rythym and the speed and ease was not what I expected at all. All the fancy instruments and picks are not what makes a true musician but having and excellent tool as the TP 50 allows me to really bring out the tone and power from my instruments.
Going to order KS40 for my mandolin next.well pleased and recomend blue chip picks to any player looking for the ultimate sound and speed all players are looking for
