Product Overview

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 40/1000 of an inch thickness(1.0mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

    Great pick

Posted by dave on 1st Oct 2025

I figured I’d try this pick even with the cost because string musicians pay thousands for good bows and woodwinds pay hundreds for good reeds, why shouldn’t I pay a little a little more for a great pick. I’ve played Fender mediums primarily but have had periods with Dunlops orange so by no means an expert. I think it does better than the mediums. When I compare the sounds the fenders almost sounds thin where the tp40 has this warmth to it.

    Absoluely Obsessed

Posted by Matt Mortensen on 29th Sep 2025

This is the nicest pick I’ve ever played with. I’m obsessed with it. This specific shape is great because I have larger hands and longer fingers. The shape works very well for me. I would highly recommend this pick!!

    Now the TP40

Posted by Georg on 29th Sep 2025

The use the TD35 & TD40 picks since a few years. I absolutely love 'em. However playing my acoustics I wanted a slightly bigger pick and just ordered the TP40. Perfect for acoustics and I will stay with the TD's for my electrics. For me there isn't a better pick. Yes, they are not cheap, but funny I don't lose my picks anymore since I use the BC's.

Perfect pick. Doesn’t slip. Great thickness to allow some base without being too thick. Bevel makes a difference too. Recommend.

    Awesome TP40 Guitar Pick

Posted by Jerry E. Westaway on 11th Aug 2025

i am a nobody . Not a pro or even a good amateur but have been play guitars on and off since 1969 . i am a disabled person now and on a fixed income so my days of ever getting a quality guitar are over . i do have a cheap acoustic guitar and 2 cheap electrics . i bought the Blue Chip TP40 for my acoustic . $35.00 is a lot of money in my house on my very low income . But... it was super worth it to get this pick . i really love it and can tell a difference in playing and tone and how the pick attacks the strings , etc.. i hope to some day get another Blue Chip pick and i highly recommend them to anyone wanting to try one .

    TP40 (35)

Posted by Bill on 11th Aug 2025

I ordered a TP40 but requested it be a TP35 as advised and liked it so much that I ordered a second as a spare. I've always used a triangle pick the size of a TAD and initially ordered a TAD an a TP to see which I liked best. The TP still gives me the comfort of a triangle pick I've been using for decades but is smaller and actually more comfortable so I returned the TAD and am sticking with the TP.

    The Finest

Posted by Unknown on 1st Aug 2025

Been using various BC picks for years. TD35 for electric. TP40 and TP48 for acoustic. They excel in providing a very smooth beveled edge that lasts. The feel is very noticeably different than a typical pick - smoother and “denser” on the strings, giving a thicker and more rounded tone in general. It’s really apparent on acoustic. I also appreciate the subtle grip improvement. I try to always have one with me. And at least one back up in the house. Never had one wear out.

    Pretty good pick

Posted by Michael on 16th Jul 2025

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but the three corners of the pick I ordered are all slightly different. I like it because I was able to find one I liked the tone of best (slightly less rounded with slightly brighter attack). Only bought it recently so I'm a ways off from testing firsthand the resistance to wear. By math, if it lasts longer than 15 tortex picks then I'll have broken even. If it does indeed maintain consistent shape and attack that long, then it succeeds. And I'm supporting the economic life of my neighbors down in Tennessee. That's always a win.

    as good as advertised

Posted by Nicholas Chiu on 5th Jul 2025

$35 for a pick?!…. i finally bought a couple (tp 40 and tp 48)…. after strumming and picking on my acoustics and electric i realized how great these picks work…. excellent balance, feel, and sound (at least to the player, probanly not noticable to listeners)… like anything in life, live within uour means…. if uou have the money, uou should definitely treat yourself with a few different thickness picks…. i hope blue chip will make more picks with the grip…. will keep playing with my 2 blue chip picks for years to see if it really last ‘forever’ without maintenance…. just don’t lose them…
