When it first arrived I tested with my usual picks like the Dunlop Tortex fin. There is a huge difference in sound. Not small. Huge. The way it clips the strings doesn't come across as harsh and immediately some of my band members recognize the difference in tone. Incredible pick. After getting really good gear, don't sting on the pick. It is also extremely comfortable to hold and grips really well.

I was already using TP-1R for acoustic and loving it, so I decided to pick up a TD-style pick to try out on electric. I had used a light to medium pick for electric, and decided to go with the TD 40, figuring I would still use it for acoustic if I didn't like it for electric.
I got it yesterday and used it for a gig this evening. The shape is really nice, with a slightly slimmer point than my normal pick. Despite being a good deal thicker than what I normally use, the thickness was not a problem. And, of course, it had the same great grip that I love for acoustic. I was never worried about the pick flying out of my hand or shifting into an unwanted position.
Tonally, the result on electric is much the same I experience on acoustic. The attack is warm and musical and the dynamics are very easy to control. Love it! Also, whereas I can run through my normal picks at a rate of one or even two per hour set, the TD-40 still looks and feels brand new even after a couple of hours of practice and frenetic bit of playing. I may order a TD-35 and get a bit closer to my usual gauge, but if for some reason the TD-40 became the only pick I could use for the rest of my days, I wouldn't bat an eye.

The TD 40 has good tone; not as bright as other picks but a strong mellow resonance; finished well and the material seems to be quite fast against the string. In retrospect I think I should have ordered the thicker pick for bluegrass style guitar.

I've owned very few tortoise shell picks. With most of us - that is now a thing of the past. I'm sure many of us have very fond "pick" memories. I had a 3 cornered tortoise shell that I still miss and that was 20 years ago ! I had tried a Blue Chip only once before and I gave it away. Recently, I looked at the specs and sizes very carefully for myself. When I saw the speed bevel -- I decided to give Blue Chip Picks another try ! I must say, without hesitation, my TD 40 is an excellent pick ! I LOVE it ! I have finally found THE pick !!!

I've previously usel thinner versions of picks. After Trying the 35 I thought I'd go up one gauge and I am more than satisfied feels great and sounds good.

I've been using the same TD45 for the past 5 years (several hours of playing each day) and it is still just as great as day 1. It grabs that little extra bit of tone out of every instrument it touches. I can't see myself using anything else. Blue chip for life.

Feeling stuck between the TD-40, which I love for its bright, snappy sound, and the TD-50, which I love for its better control, I asked the guys at BC if they'd make me a TD-45, and they did! It turned out to be the exact pick I've always looked for. Fantastic!

It is remarkable that this pick does not hang up on the guitar strings like other picks seem to do. Also, the pick does not turn in my fingers. I am very careful with this pick - I don't want to lose it.

I was able to return this one plus two others for a full refund + the shipping. Very cool to deal with.
