Product Description

This is the TAD pick in 60/1000 of an inch(1.5mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Great Pick 5 Star Review

Blue Chip picks are long lasting and very good quality.
They answer questions quickly and thoroughly. Customizing a pick is easy. Just let them know in the comments. Best picks.

  2. Exceeded Expectations 4 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Dec 2021

My BlueChip pick sounds noticeable better than my previous one. As someone said, it doesn't immediately make you play better but it makes what you play sound better, and therefore makes you want to play better.

I am rating at 4 stars only because I would like a little more or deeper etching on both sides for a better grip.

I personally like the larger size and thickness of the TAD60, but I understand that is a personal preference.

  3. Tone & grip are great! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2021

I have a problem with gripping the pick due to minor nerve damage. Also, I'm very critical of the tone a pick brings out of my dreadnought. This TAD60 is the very best I have experienced after many years of searching! I a/b tested the BC with what I was using. Had been using stick on grips to aid in holding. NO NEED for these now! TAD60 is the easiest ever to hold on to! AND, the tone is the most clear ever with increased volume. Yep, the price is concerning, but in my opinion well worth it. Last pick I'll ever need!

The product and customer service were both fantastic!

  5. TAD 60 Awesome flatpick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Nov 2021

I love these triangle picks. For flatpicking my dreadnought I'm going with the TAD 60. For my 000, I like the TAD 50. I've compared these to caesin, primetone and old natural materials, and the bluechip are the best. They are fast, clean and ring out the loudest, cutting through everything when I want to.

  6. Great Pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Nov 2021

This is the best pick I’ve ever used! Before buying a bluechip, I was extremely skeptical of a $35 pick. After being pestered by several musician friends to buy one, I got one. I’m a bluegrass flat picking guitarist, and this really helps my guitar ring! I’ve tried playing on other picks, but it isn’t the same. Make sure you purchase the pick holder so you don’t lose it. Never going back to 50 cent picks!

  7. Gives chords that Bluegrass thump 5 Star Review

I wanted to try a larger pick, been using the TD's
This pick seems to work just as well for me. I really like the chord tones with this larger pick.

  8. TAD60...but wait, there's 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Sep 2021

I Play guitar. You should too.. I've had/have the TAD40, TAD50, CT55, TAD60 and TP60. They are all great, but different... you lose some twang with each step up in thickness. OR DO YOU?...dun, dun, dun.
The TAD40 and TP60 I have sound very similar. Which is a sound I really like for Bluegrass and just overall. I was surprised by the similarities, with the thickness difference. I like the size of TAD best, but the sound of the TP60 has peaked my curiosity. I will most likely keep trying new Bluechips, because it's my nature. It's not because I should. I'm sure I have my bases covered.
Oh yeah, this is a TAD60 review. It's the warmest of my Bluechips. I also have noticed some clickyness. Especially when holding it loosely. I can't say I've noticed it in the others. It's not terrible, but I've noticed it at times. We are getting thick here. As it stands, if I were to advise a Bluegrass picker that just wanted 1 pick, I would suggest the TAD40. I'm sure it's suitable for other styles too...but who cares about that?? J/k..Have fun!
*I have to mention the customer service. Some of the best in any business. These guys will take care of you. These picks ain't cheap, but the fact they will take care of you is worth it. Stories I've heard of them replacing picks.. You are most likely making a lifetime purchase. Unless you string up with barbwire.
God Bless. Give Jesus a try and you will find a Peace that passes all understanding. What do you have to lose?
Forgive me if you see this same review more on the picks I've listed. I ain't got time to write a novel. Not again, anyway.

  9. My Favorite Mandolin Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Aug 2021

I grew up playing guitar, but have recently taken up the mandolin. I started playing it with a TD-60 pick, and although the weight of the pick was great for producing a fuller tone, I was surprised to learn that the smaller sized pick just didn’t feel right to me for mandolin playing. But when I switched to this TAD-60 pick, it was just the ticket. I can play faster because my hand can relax, and the weight really brings out the best tone. I’m playing on a Collings MF Deluxe.

  10. Excellent pick 5 Star Review

Just starting to use heavier picks, this one feels great, good grip and shape.
