Product Overview
This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

5 Simply the best picks i've ever used
Posted by F. on 9th Jan 2015
My headline says it all, these picks are just amazing, I have been using them for 3 years now, the only problem, well after a year or so I will lose one (darn brown color) They glide through the strings and virtually no pick noise. Worth the money, specially if you already invested on a nice instrument, try them out, you will not be disappointed.

5 Love the size, and triangle shape
Posted by Bob on 9th Jan 2015
I play bluegrass guitar. I practice and get out to jams. My level is about lower intermediate. When I got my TAD40 (speed bevel right), I already had a TP1R40, TD35, and TD60. I've found no use for a rounded edge. My hands are big, and I really like the size of the TAD. You get the triangle shape and all 3 points are speed beveled, so you are really getting 3 picks for the price of 1. It also doesn't matter which side is up or down; the speed bevel is the same. Just pick up the pick and play. I also recently got a TAD35, at no extra charge for the special 35 thickness. They are both sweet, but I like the 35 a little better. It is stiff enough, yet the thinness gives a little brighter tone. Blue Chip picks do absolutely have a better grip, and are smoother over the strings. I can't say that I am a lot better picker now, maybe just a little bit, but I don't have to think about my pick anymore. Well worth it, and trust me, once you've used a Blue Chip, you love it, and you won't lose it.

5 Love it.
Posted by RB on 2nd Jan 2015
Was introduced to Blue Chip picks by a friend who plays guitar and mando. My reaction, like everyone else's, was $35? For a pick? Bullshit! Then I played it. Then I bought a couple. Now I have a half dozen Blue Chip picks and have given some to friends. Yes, they are worth it. More than worth it.

5 Bluegrass...

Love the feel of this material. When a person thinks of something as expensive, stand back and look at the whole picture. The large triangle (aka a reuleaux triangle) is important to me in bluegrass and country. In the long run, what's a measly couple hundred dollars. It's only money. Wanted to mess with all five thicknesses of the TAD (love the origin of the name TAD) just for fun. That was me that e-mailed you about the "TAD" acronym. Trying to "finger" out what this composite is. Is it Meldin 7001 Polyimide, if you're free to answer. Respectfully submitted...Tom.....

5 tad 40

ha, what can I say, I first bought thect55 that is 1.4 mm and then I ordered tad40 that is 1.mm and still cant say the one I like the best, both picks are great,i thought $35.00 was a bit to high for a pick, they bring out great sound out of my custom d41 porter wagoner martin, better sound, less scratchy pick sound,o I did pay $60 bucks for tortous shell pick, few years ago, I still can't pick any beter but the blue chip pick's bring out a great sound out of my martin,

5 Great Tone Anyone?
Posted by Rick Rayburn on 23rd May 2014
The TAD 40 has that crisp clear '"schwing" when you strum that a lighter gauge pick gives. There are no dents or nicks that develop which slows down the smoothness of the string contact. Should last a long time. But, is one pick worth $35.00? Yes! However, to avoid extreme mental anguish, keep close tabs on your Blue Chip pick. Don't lose it! This TAD 40 I purchased was a replacement for one that I left in a motel in Sedalia, MO. Ouch! I'm still not over that!
