This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

They produce a clean sound because there is no pick noise and they slide off the string which is a big help for fast tunes.
The BlueChip picks are made from material that will last a long time.

These picks are awesome! Regular plastic picks eventually develop a rough edge from strumming across the strings. Not only will the BlueChip never wear out, but it also has a beveled edge that improves tone.
BlueChip has a great product and they ship very quickly.

I play the mandolin and have used a wide range of plectrums over the past 25 years. These have included Jim Dunlop Nylon Maxigrip 1.2mm, Big Stubby 2mm and 3 mm (the playing tip tapers to a point) and attempts at wood, steel and other strange materials and using Gorilla Snot and Pick Honey to keep the thing on my fingers. I have also regularly suffered severe cramp in my right hand while playing over the past couple of years. I came across the Blue Chip claims two months ago and after much hmming and haaing, decided to give it a go. I live in Belfast - the total cost of getting the plectrum in my hand was about £45, which is, prima facie, bonkers. After 1 week, all cramp has gone, the plectrum gives the open strings a bell like quality which is great, speed, reponse and inflection are all spot on and playing music is just a pleasure. It is a great thing and a positive contribution to the human condition. I have to find a box with a lock on it mind you.

After 25+ years of limping along with this that and the other pick...always chasing better set up...or then thinking "well maybe its the strings" or "maybe I just suck"...I got one of these for my 47th birthday from my teenagers. I tend to use a thicker pick for mandolins (wegens) but have quickly gotten used to this thinner pick. It doesn't flex and become misshapen and it has an amzing crystal clear bell-like effect on tone. Massive volume when you need it. bevelled very slightly. They suit a loose or a tight grip. I feel like I've been cycling with one leg and just grew a second. Hurrah to the blue chipsters.

Despite its rather plain appearance, the material these picks are made of does have something going for it. Sounds great with a fine "grip" without feeling tacky. Love it!

I am certain that most guitar, mandolin and banjo players who venture onto the BlueChip Pick website have that moment when they stare in mild sticker shock at the cost of a BlueChip pick. It is unfortunate that the market had told us that we should be spending a dollar, and giving us a $.50 pick. That is exactly what you get, a $.50 connection to your often time thousands of dollar instrument. There is a reason that you will notice that most if not all the BlueChip products rate a five stars by those of us who stepped out on faith to purchase what is truly an instrument accessory. That is because they live up to the hype. BlueChip picks exceed expectations, and they deliver feel, tone and durability that exceed the price we paid. If you ever have the pleasure of interacting with the staff of BlueChip picks, you will quickly learn that their demand for quality extends to their staff as well! Initially, I purchased a pick that was too small, so I called , and they went out of their way to remedy my mistake. To make matters even more difficult, I asked them to use my shipping label to send the pick, instead of their normal routine. They didn't blink. The staff at BlueChip pick from those answering the phones to Matt, always made certain that they overdelivered on customer service as well as product. As long as BlueChip pick continues to produce picks, I will continue to be one of their biggest advocates! Congratulations on getting it right!

I took a chance and bought my grandson a TAD-40 pick. He plays guitar and since I use a CT-55 for my mandolin, I wanted him to experience The Blue Chip Revolution. He loves the pick so Grand-Pa bought him another, for back-up. I also purchased The Wooden Pocket Case for him to keep it in. If you're going to play any stringed instrument, why waste your time with a pick that is not the best.

I have a Tad 35, Tad 40 and a Jazz 100LG - all are simply amazing Picks - comparing the Tad 40 to the 35, I think the 40 is the better pick - it is so versatile, but the 35 is still a great pick. The Jazz is amazing for creating separation of notes and giving you such amazing accuracy. Not cheap, but amazing.

This pick (TAD 40) is perfect size for me, brings out a really nice refined tone to my Martins, and somehow doesn't seem to have the tendency to slip out of my hand during hard crosspicking like some picks tend to do. Primarily, tone is great. Not too bright and metallic, not too subdued. Not too clicky. At first, I wasn't sure I could tell if there was a $35 difference, but after playing awhile, the advantage to these picks came through. My favorite now, but I'm afraid I might loose it.

I love these picks! They feel great, they play great, they don't wear down, or at least not in a single session. They Rock!
