This is the TAD pick in 40/1000 of an inch(1.0mm) thickness. It is shaped identically to the TP, but is slightly larger. All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, laser engraved, and hand beveled.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

After favoring the smaller TD35 and TD40 on guitar for a while, the larger TAD40 is now my go-to for single-line picking and strumming. I have a lot of miles with the CT55 on mandolin so the larger size is comfy for me. The TAD40 creates noticeably more volume and weight, and overall better tone IMO, on all my guitars from parlor to dreadnought. If I'm only strumming on a track I will choose a thinner pick but for overall versatility, playability, and tone quality, the TAD40 takes the cake for me.

Before I purchased a BlueChip pick for my mandolin playing, I asked others their opinion. Artists Rhonda Vincent and Doyal Lawson raving reviews made me want a BlueChip pick even more. My wife loves jewelry and this pick was about to become my jewelry. A diamond can make me look good, but a BlueChip is going to make me sound good.
Perfect size, shape and tone I look forward to purchasing more BlueChip picks.

I was surprised that there was such a noticeable improvement in sound and feel.

I had no idea what a difference a pick could make. It feels like its added years to my experience level in quality of tone and ease of play.

I've tried so many picks through the years trying to match a beautiful real tortoise shell I borrowed from some player 20 years ago. I never came close until I found the Blue Chip TAD40. Perfect thickness, feel and shape. I can lean into the strings or lightly touch them and get the dynamic response I've been listening for all these years. My search is over!

I didn’t order these for a long time. Figured it couldn’t be worth the price. I don’t understand the technology, but it makes playing clean easier and doesn’t slip from your fingers. Very surprised at just how much difference this pick makes

I enjoy every aspect of Blue Chip picks.

Picks can coax some very different sounds from your guitar. I grew up on the faux Tortise, then nylon, then tried Acetal even. Each and their own quality on sound. This pick actually has its own unique artistic contribution to my music. It feels like it makes the strings ring a little more clearly and the slickness of the material makes a different kind of music emerge from my guitar, which I enjoy. Weirdly enough I seem to be more accurate in my flat picking techniques as well. TAD 40: I'm sold.

I was pretty skeptical about spending this kind of money on a single guitar pick, but I’ve tried every gimmick out there and haven’t been completely satisfied so I said, “what the heck”.
It was a good decision! Unlike many people my fingers tend to be dry, making it hard to hang on to picks. I’m not having that problem with this one. I’m also happy with the shape, thickness, and the almost noiseless quality.
Will probably get another.
