Product Description

The STP is a smaller version of the TP. It is the same basic size as our Kenny Smith signature pick, but has sharper corners. The STP in a 50 thickness is the pick that Adam Steffey currently uses. This is the STP in 50/1000ths of an inch thickness(1.25mm). All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a speed bevel.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  3. Well I'll Be... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Nov 2022

After years of thinking to myself, "I don't need to buy a single pick that's more expensive than a whole bag of my regular picks," I remembered that playing music for people is my job...and I love my job! At the same time, I realized that I've been throwing picks into crowds for more than 20 years and that means that I had been officially been using "throw-away picks" for that whole time! I haven't thrown a capo, microphone, guitar cable or speaker stand in any crowd and was able to keep them employed for years...so why not a pick? I took a few twenties from a tip jar and made the decision to buy a BlueChip. How do I like it, you ask...well, this is the first online product review I've ever done...so, there's your answer. Well done BlueChip...you win!

  4. Excellent for mandolin" 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Aug 2022

The STP 50 (well, custom thickness 45 in my case) is my absolute favorite in tone and feel – after several years of trying different BC picks. (And BC picks are the best anyway.)

  5. Top of the line! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jan 2022

I can't get the tone I want out of any other pick. I own three (STP's), the first one is ten years old, I find no discernable degradation. I don't lose picks so still have them all, thanks for the new 'personalized' I've gotten recently! Good Job folks. Cheers, Larry

  7. Fantastic sounds and feel! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Apr 2021

My particular guitar is designed for fingerstyle, so it is extremely finicky with picks. I have never found a pick that sounded better than my fingers, until now! This is a small pick but not too small, I feel like it would be comfortable for anyone used to playing a jazz3 or standard size pick but if you like larger picks you may struggle. I also have TD60 and CT55 which both also sound incredible. This pick is defiantly the brighter and more articulate of the 3 and I favor it for most of my playing now, but I would be happy with all of them and after some solid playing I purchased another 3 in different varieties as I’m sure they will be just as good if not better!!

  9. Too thick for me 2 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Oct 2020

Besides being too thick, the STP 50 seems to make the guitar (Bourgeois Country Boy) quieter and even "muted". I admit, the picking action is smooth and I like that. I ordered a TD 40 hoping this will be a lot more to my liking.

  10. Best pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Jul 2020

I have literally tried dozens of picks of various shapes and thicknesses etc. After test driving the stp 50 I couldn’t imagine using any other pick. Easy to grip and glides through the strings. Your pick has made me and my guitar sound better!
