Product Description

The STP is a smaller version of the TP. It is the same basic size as our Kenny Smith signature pick, but has sharper corners. The STP in a 50 thickness is the pick that Adam Steffey currently uses. This is the STP in 40/1000ths of an inch thickness(1.0mm). All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a speed bevel.

  2. I bought a $40 pick, I have no regrets. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Dec 2022

I'm not a professional musician, but not a beginner either.
I never would have believed there would be a day I would spend that for a pick.
But after a few weeks looking, listening, and discussing picks, I decided to take a gamble. I ordered this pick.
I heard and felt the difference immediately.
A silky, almost buttery quality. warm, smooth, welcoming sound
Yet at the same time producing good volume and "bite" at the same time.
I play multiple types of strings, Lap Dulcimer, Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin. You can find a pick that will highlight any stringed instruments.
Just try one, you won't be disappointed.

  3. One of the best - maybe THE best 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Dec 2022

I’m an experienced guitarist, now learning jazz and bluegrass. I prefer smaller picks, as they seem easier to control. Having tried a bunch of other picks, some very good, I bit the $$ bullet on a BlueChip. Absolutely no regrets. The STP40 gives great control, full, ringing tone, and good projection. Highly recommended.

  4. Too expensive to experiment 4 Star Review

Liked the edges but too small for me ; would have like to try a larger pick, lighter gauge, but won’t be experimenting

  6. My favorite pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Jan 2021

I love everything about the Blue Chip STP and I’m forever grateful to have stumbled upon BCP’s. It’s got 3-sides, the bevel, and produces a strong, focused, and articulate sound. Ok, so my hands and touch are also involved, but my point is that when you find something that works like this, it kinda becomes a part of you. I use the .40 and the .35 for both flatpicking and electric playing. Picks are personal. Find one you like! Once, I lost one an STP during a raging post midnight session at Clifftop - the Appalachian String Band Festival in West VA. It’s still out there somewhere among the leaves. Great picks! Thank you!

I had the tp 40 but still had problems with the pick spinning but with the smaller stp 40 I dont have tuat issue it gives a good sound and slides through the strings when flat picking very well I like this pick very much

  9. Perfect Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Dec 2019

First off, the bevels are perfect, and I "suppose"? they wear out... though I cant find any trace of wear, even after months of playing. I mean seriously, what is this material?? with the triangle shape... I get 3 picks for the price of one.... but again,,, they don't wear out... so..... the material gives the guitar great tone, they are perfect to grip... love them and so does anyone I've ever known that has tried one. No comparison to generic picks... this is pro gear.

  10. Great pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Oct 2019

This is a very nice pick though a bit small compared to the size I'm used to. I wish it had been a bit easier to compare the pick sizes to standard issue picks as a reference. As for the tone, it works wonderfully for playing leads on acoustic or electric guitar as it maximizes the fundamental sound of the string and minimizes pick sound.
