Product Overview

The Jazz LG is a pick that is very similar in shape to our original Jazz pick. It is slightly larger than the regular jazz pick. This is a Jazz LG in a 80/1000 of an inch(2.0mm) thickness. All of our picks a professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick comes with a universal rounded bevel.

    Feels nice in the hand

Posted by Sax on 27th Nov 2025

The material feels very nice to hold and is very high quality. The top edge of the pick is flat and comfortable, not pointy like some brands. No signs of tip wear after initial thrashing on .70-gauge strings, I wear picks out after 1-2 sessions playing extreme metal on a 7 string. Still deciding between the 1.5mm and 2.0mm but I think that the Jazz LG 80 could be the sweet spot. I usually use the Dunlop Flow Gloss 2.0mm, I like the flow shape and tone. I feel that the flow shape is better for speed and articulate cross and alternate picking, but they wear out very fast. Having said that, the Jazz LG 80 tone is far better, very bright and clear on the wound strings and not too chirpy on the higher ones. I would defiantly love to try a Flow shape in this material. The 80 and 60 is defiantly well worth the money, I can happily work with the high quality and durable material. Fantastic product and highly recommended. Cheers, Sax.

    Best pick money can buy!

Posted by Ollie Carson on 3rd Jul 2024

I have been playing blue chips for a while now, and I have really liked the TP and Jazz Large shapes the most. I got in contact to ask about the possibility of a TP with jazz tips, and blue chip made it happen! It is perfect for me, because I play heavy handed, and a lot each day, so something thick, fast and with 3 points is ideal. I also got my name engraved on the back and it is just perfect. You might expect that as a thicker pick, it might sound lacking in tone, but that is not the case at all. I very much got it with electric guitar in mind, but it turns out it is perfect for acoustic as well. This custom shape just feels perfect in my hand too. I usually make myself picks out of casein, because I run my own business called "Carson Picks", so I am used to making my picks just the right size and just the right bevel angle. I could write paragraphs about why you should purchase a blue chip (Especially a thicker one), but the best thing is for you to just buy one yourself, and see first hand the difference they make. Thanks again Blue Chip! -Ollie

    Even better with age

Posted by Woodshed Recluse on 12th Feb 2024

My gold standard for tone and feel was Red Bear. Initially, I thought these were a bit inferior. There was more pick noise, and I felt a bit more friction with the strings as well. However, after a few hundred hours (maybe more?) of use, the surface smoothed out, leaving them very close in tone and feel to Red Bear. They aren't identical, but in my estimation they are definitely *not worse*. Add to that the fact that they last much longer, and I don't see a compelling reason to use anything else. They're really great. Lest you think I am imagining things, I recently ordered some backups and when you look at the new vs old side by side, the difference is pretty dramatic -- the old ones have a glassy, smooth surface, while the new ones look matte. I also noticed the color changes a bit (they start out more dark chocolate and end up more milk chocolate...). Not sure how long this image will stay up, but if you want to take a look for yourself: https://pasteboard.co/uTJHa4d8B58S.jpg

    Worth The Price

Posted by Shreddy T on 24th Oct 2022

Not seeing other reviews bring this up so I will. Other Picks: Wear out. BlueChip picks: Don't wear out. This is what makes these picks so great. I've used a LOT of picks (cheap and expensive) and I've always been very picky about my picks. They're made out of a really hard composite material that is extremely wear resistant I've never seen another pick this tough. They have tons of shapes so as long as you know what you like BlueChip is the pick. I will say though that they are not fun to lose and losing a guitar pick is easy so take that into consideration. Mine live on my desk or in the weird tiny pocket most jeans have.

The best sounding picks I’ve ever tried period!

I know the price is scary. But these picks play better, are more durable, and sound so much better it’s scary. The best! Thanks Matt and Allen!

    The ultimate Jazz XL

Posted by Eric Lawyer on 24th May 2022

For anyone looking for a Jazz XL size pick, look no further. This plectrum really nails it as far as "better than turtle shell" tone in a slightly larger than jazz size. Go the extra mile and opt for the engraving, you will smile every time you see your pick with your initials on it.
