Product Description

The Jazz pick is very similar in size and shape to the Dunlop Jazz 3 pick.  This is a Jazz in a 50/1000 of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. All of our picks a professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick has a universal rounded bevel.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Absolutely a must have for any serious picker 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Sep 2014

I originally ordered the Jazz40 from this site and loved it but it just wasn't quite thick enough for me. So I ordered the Jazz50 and it was perfect. I'm a jazz student in college so I'm always playing either at school, giving lessons or practicing/jamming and this pick plays like new every time. It has the feel of a comfortable worn in pick with a sharp point, allowing for those fast, crisp and clear runs. Even playing chord solos sounds great with this thing, where most other picks have the "clicking" sound of plastic. It glides off of the strings and despite having sweaty hands it stays firmly between my fingers. I recommend getting the pouch that Blue Chip sells for $4 so you can keep it on your keychain or if it's in your case it will be kept from jangling around with the other stuff (not that it will wear down to begin with). You have to buy this pick, especially if you already like picks like the Jazz 3s, this blows them out of the water.

  2. Outstanding Jazz III 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Jul 2013

Ive been using a CT55 for acoustic guitar for some time now and Jazz III's and other hand made versions for electric. While i love the size and shape of the tradition Jazz, the soft material left a lot to be desired for me tonely and for feel off the strings. The Jazz 50 is pretty perfect! Feels great on the fingers - no need for bumps or holes to help you grip, the tip is nicely shaped for articulate playing and a fat tone, but will also give you a nice cutting tone if you dig in. AND it comes with my initials on it... what's not to love? :) Great Pick!

  3. An ideal Jazz III 5 Star Review

I don't think I can add much more to what everyone else says... It just may be the perfect pick! It is paradoxically very grippy in your hand, but slides very smoothly across the strings. It produces a balanced tone that is not too bright and not too dark. If you like Jazz IIIs but want something with an even better feel and a clearer sound that won't wear down in a short period of time, this is the pick!

  4. Great Jazz III Replacement 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Apr 2013

After using a TD45 on my acoustic for over a year, I decided to purchase a Jazz 50 to replace the famous Dunlop Jazz IIIs that I have used on electric guitar for the better part of a decade.

This pick is more than I thought it could be, and I had already known how great BlueChip picks are. The cut is extremely precise with no imperfections. The tip is sharp enough for speed yet not too sharp to over-accentuate the upper harmonics. The 50 gauge is very similar to the Jazz III size and I could not be happier.

Paired with the pick box, this pick will save money in the long run as you don't have to buy countless other picks that break down far too quickly. A great purchase!!

  5. Tone 5 Star Review

What more can I ask for? Feels great in my hand and brings out tons of tone out of my instrument!

  6. Expensive, But Worth It To Me 5 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Jul 2012

I like the control that comes with a pick of this size and thickness. I play and record mostly rock and jazzy blues styles electric guitar, and have found no better sounding or feeling pick for the majority of songs. I use mine everyday to play and practice, and it's been lasting me about 6 months before becoming noticeably worn. I do alternate occasionally with one or two other brand picks, and I like the BC Jazz LG 35 for strumming steel-string acoustic guitar, but the Jazz 50 is 99% my main pick.

  7. I love this pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jun 2012

This is my second Blue Chip pick. I bought a TD50 about a year ago, and it is still going strong. I decided to give the BC Jazz 50 a try, and I Love It!!! And it is such a great sounding pick, and between the two Blue Chip picks that I now own I can cover just about every style and tone I want. Definitely worth the money!!
