Product Description

The Jazz pick is very similar in size and shape to the Dunlop Jazz 3. This is the Jazz in 40/1000 of an inch thickness.(1.0mm) All BlueChip Picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched. This pick has a universal rounded bevel.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. I never thought I'd love a pick... 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Sep 2019

but now I do! I can't believe I paid $45 (with shipping) for a freakin pick...... I was ready to be a skeptic and only bought one because of the return policy, but I'm totally sold. It really feels like your fingers and pick are one, and connect with the strings like I've never felt before. I've done a bunch of ABing with my jazz iii s and the feel and sound is so superior, its nuts!

  2. If You're Serious About Your Tone 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Apr 2019

I heard about your picks while searching online for old school jazz picks. I was a little skeptical about the claims but then I saw some of the people using them and thought they must be worth it.
They are; pick noise is greatly reduced, no more,"clicky" sounds on single note runs, the pick stays firmly in hand and seems to warm up to your temperature.
Chords are articulate and full sounding, whether playing quietly or with gusto.
I've been using the Jazz 40 on both acoustic and electric guitars and really loving it.
    Much appreciated.

  3. Jazz 40 Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Mar 2019

I love this pick. The feel and the fact that it doesn't slip from my fingers alone would make it worth the price, but the way it plays is amazing. It glides over the strings when I need it to and allows me to get the attack I need when the music requires a harder sound. I lost one of these and I couldn't wait to get my replacement. I am going to make sure I don't misplace this one, with care it should last for years.

  4. Back to BlueChip! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jan 2019

I have a pretty sizeable collection of picks, and have gone back and forth with a few different brands over the years, and BLueChip has been in my collection. I had settled in with (Brand X pick), though, but grabbed my BC Jazz 50 recently after reading some players' comments about how much they liked theirs. I played with it quite a bit -- and liked it again, enough to try the BC Jazz 40, too. Same experience: I liked it! Nice feel, and great sound!
Grabbed my {Brand X) pick ... and it felt funny, which is surprising, since I had been using it for so long. I guess I'm back to being a BlueChip player! Thanks for the great product and service!

  5. BEST ACOUSTIC PICK 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Sep 2018

I LIKE THE THICKER BLUE CHIP JAZZ PICK FOR MY FOUR COLLINGS GUITARS WHEN I AM PLAYING THEM THROUGH A MIC. FOR MY MARTIN'S BOURGEOIS ,SANTA CRUZ AND GIBSON GUITARS THAT ARE NOT VOICED AS BRIGHT AS THE COLLINGS GUITARS I LIKE A 35 OR 38 BLUE CHIP. IF I AM USING THE K&K OR BAGGS PICKUPS IN THE GUITARS I USE A BIT THICKER PICK. THE PICK HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE EQ OF THE GUITAR.

  6. Jazz 40 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Dec 2017

This is the most amazing pi k I have ever used. I thought it was way overpriced. WRONG!
THE FEEL, the quick attack, non-slipping features were excellent.
It's so hard to describe. You just have to play with one.
    Thanks!

  7. The Pick everyone should try 5 Star Review

it is easy to hold and glides across the strings and the tone is awesome too.

  8. The Best of the Best 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Sep 2016

The Jazz 40 is the best pick I have ever used and will buy more of them. I have always used Dunlap 204/205 but now only BC 40. The tone of my guitar is amazing using this pick.

  9. Dunlop Jazz iii Replacement 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Sep 2016

If you have a Dunlop Jazz iii and are looking for the Blue Chip replacement then this is the thickness that is closest, measures a touch over 1mm in thickness but is a touch stiffer. Great tone as you would expect from a BC pick with a faster attack and a less muffled tone. The point lasts for ever and manages to glide faster over the strings while getting more volume.

  10. BC Jazz 40 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th May 2016

I tried the 60 50 and now the 40, have to say I love the 40 the most. It's the closest to the Jazz III if you are looking for that kinda thing. I did really like the 50 for my archtop but it was a bit too big, for my taste, on an electric. Either way, you can't go wrong. Never thought an expensive pick would be worth it but I've gone through about 4 now (spend the extra few bucks and get one of those key pouches). The material projects very well and stays put in your hand. If you haven't tried it I would highly suggest it. The people that work here are incredibly nice as well, just give them a call if you have any questions. Love this product and company.
