Product Overview
This is our JD Crowe style dobro/resonator thumb pick in a size large. This is a slightly thicker blade design as compared to our banjo picks to withstand the more strenuous use on a dobro. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 60/1000 of an inch(1.50mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

I'm a old school kind of guy and I've used plastic all my life and thought I would never change. I've got to thank Matthew and BlueChip for making such a great product!

5 blue chip picks are the best
Posted by gill vanderlip on 30th Jan 2018
I have osteoarthritis in my right hand and trying different picks from different makers. They all were good but the blue chip is the best. The size is large so I can hold on to it. No pick noise and the pick glides off the strings with ease and tone. Best pick I’ve ever used. Also using hybrid picking works great. The perfect pick.

5 Smooth action, lovely rounded tone

Plastic thumb picks just don’t last very long, and I’ve been trying to find a thumb pick that really works for me. The BlueChip thumb picks are excellent, the action is smooth, and the pick stays firmly in place. The best thing is the sound. I’m not playing professionally, on the reso at least (played saxophones in the past), but I do know what works for me. These picks are so much better than what I’ve worked with so far. For me there is a difference between the 1L and the JDL - the 1L is a tiny bit longer and produces a brighter attack than the JDL (the L refers to large). There’s a use for each one.

5 My favorite thumbpick
Posted by Gary Mortensen on 5th Jan 2017
I've used this thumbpick for about five years and am completely happy with it. It's extremely durable and very comfortable. After five years, the thumbpick edge had worn down a bit, so that I couldn't dig in as aggressively as I sometimes needed. So, I got a new one and am good for another five years. I use this for lap style resonator guitar, BTW.

5 Great Product

These picks last much longer than plastic thumb picks. I wish they would make some of the same pick with a Poly- Amide-Imide blade. It lasts longer, sounds brighter, and slips off the strings better.
