This is our dobro/resonator thumb pick in a size large. This is a slightly thicker blade design as compared to our banjo picks to withstand the more strenuous use on a dobro. It is constructed using a custom designed stainless steel band and a 60/1000 of an inch(1.50mm) thick BlueChip pick. These picks are laser etched, professionally machined, and hand beveled to create the best thumb pick available.
Size compares to a standard large thumb pick of any brand.

Great fit, amazing tone and impressive durability. I can get the bright notes and the round mellow full sounds with just a slight change in position on both the banjo and dobro. I have tried many thumb picks. None compare. They are worth it!

Went through a lot of plastic thumb picks and then heard about these Blue Chip picks. Tried one of these and also a JD version. I like both but the 1L seems to have a stronger brighter sound. I like both of them. Can't find a better thumb pick!

I'm not a dobro player with a life time of experience. Guitar is my main instrument so I finally listened to dobro players who DO have a lifetime of experience after trying several other options for thumb picks. I'll leave all of the others in a drawer now. I should've listened in the first place. Yes, it's a lot of money for a pick but it's worth every penny. It has an elegant feel and great, smooth attack. Large blade size took a little bit of getting used to but worth the small amount of time it took. GREAT product!!

I've been trying to find the right thumb pick and have gone through a pile of different types. I follow the advice of a bass player friend of mine, who said not to worry about hitting the strings hard - they won’t hit back. Guess I’m a bit hard on thumb picks. After doing some research and sending emails to the good folks at BlueChip, I got one each of the 1-L and JDL thumb picks and really like them both. They both fit perfectly and don't slip, and the action is very smooth. The JDL is not as bright as the 1-L, that is, the sound is a bit more rounded. On most songs this is perfect. There are some songs that work better with a strong bright sound from the thumb. Just an overall amazing thumb pick.

I had forgotten which pick I had bought, so I took a stab and ordered this one...it was not the one I lost, but in very short time I came to love it

As an oldie 'newbie' to both banjo and dobro I've got most of the other brands of thumbpicks to try out, but I thought I'd try a bluechip both the JD Crow model First time trying them, instant smile on my face. They fit perfect, are comfortable and stay on. I've got big hands and ordered the large model and its as if they are custom made for me. As a newbie, I'm a bit coarse/rough playing, but the picks stay exactly on my thumb whatever I'm doing. I know people have been playing banjo and reso for years with other picks, however, I'm happy with these and have stopped trying other brands. Definitely worth the money, thanks.

I have bought several thumb picks for playing my banjo lately trying to find something that feels a little better. I have several Blue Chip flat picks and I like them so I thought I would try one of their thumb picks. I was amazed as soon as I made the first roll...it is VERY VERY smooth. It also seems more comfortable than plastic picks. I am very happy with mine.

You hear it all the time, "I was skeptical..." but, this is the REAL deal.
