  1. Best of the best. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th May 2022

I've used BlueChips for going on 10 years now and owned several. I use my pick for both acoustic as well as electric and I've failed to find another pick as durable or versatile. The price may seem expensive but as long as you can keep up with a pick it will pay itself off with years of service. I've dropped, washed, dried, ran over, practiced with hours each day, and even stepped on my last BlueChip of 7 years before it finally broke while I was practicing one night. Needless to say that replacing it with another was of no question.
My only gripe is that the bevel is a little steep for my liking, but that's easily fixed with a bit of sandpaper and a flat surface.
And like I said, just keep up with it and it'll save you from having to keep replacing inferior picks. These are the best picks out there folks.

  2. Everybody needs a bluechip in their life. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Apr 2022

I originally heard of bluechip picks on some random forum while searching for a new quality pick, and decided to look into what they were all about. I get to the website and WOW… $35 for a guitar pick was absolutely insane to me. I wrote them off as just being nonsense, but the reviews kept telling me otherwise. Probably 6 months go by and I received some prepaid cards for my birthday. I figured I’d waste them on some guitar stuff as I’m pretty impulsive and wanted quick dopamine. I have enough cables and accessories, so my mind left me at one last place. Bluechip picks. I decide to buy one and get my last name engraved into because why not? It arrives about 4 days later, and I get anxious wondering whether this pick was all it was made out to be, or just boutique nonsense. I was proven wrong, and absolutely fell in love. I have mild eczema, so dry hands can become an issue when holding a pick. The BlueChip feels like it could be celluloid, but it sticks in the fingers better than a gripped nylon pick, glides over the strings like butter, and even after a month, shows no wear. I usually used Primetones from a company that starts with a D, but they are toast after a month for me. If you’re gonna spend $100s-1000s on gear, why not show your picking hand some love, and get it a tool that’ll last a long time? I know I used prepaid cards, but I will gladly pay money to get another, and plan on gifting some to my friends for their birthdays. They are a true players pick.

  4. Faster signs of wear than I anticipated 4 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Feb 2022

This really has great tone and the material in conjunction with the bevels really glide effortlessly off the string and can because of the bevel it can help take some of the high treble in your playing. I purchased it and I believe I had it within a couple days. However, in the 3 weeks (about THREE 2-4 hour playing sessions each week) between playing I feel as though it shows the same amount of wearing a 1.3mm primetone might have. Other difference from the closest size PT would be the PT has a slightly louder pick attack and those high treble frequencies are present on the PT. How do I know this I used a frequency spectrum analyzer. I’d also like to say I’m not heavy handed either.

I am not writing this saying my BC is unusable because it is far from being unusable. I think people should know it has great playing and tonal qualities like I said above but its not as indestructible as many famous YouTubers and forum members across the internet make them out to be for $35. It’s not diamond against a rock it is still plastic against a set of metal strings.

All that being said I’m sure it’ll still last a few months so take what I said and anything you read on the internet with a grain of salt, after all I am still rating it a solid 4/5 stars. Will I purchase again, maybe but the only reason I’d buy again would be for the gliding over the strings. No pick has ever felt the way my BC feels on the strings. 3 for $35 and I’d be a 100% this is my pick kind of guy, but Vespel is stupid expensive so I don’t blame the owner for the cost.

Cheers, I hope people make informed decisions.

  6. Love the picks. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Jan 2022

I love these picks. They are expensive, but the difference between these and others is apparent at first use. Smoother, cleaner sound, they're fast and comfortable. They are the best I have used, hands down.

  7. The Only Pick 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Jan 2022

Since Leigh and I started using Blue Chip picks three years ago they're the only picks we use. They're easy to grasp, don't slip out and the beveling eliminates pick noise. We have our names engraved on them to make sure we get them back when we let others try them out.

  8. Fantastic pick 5 Star Review

Simply put, this is a great pick.

  9. My guitar reached new heights! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Dec 2021

I was worried the TD50 may be too heavy. Wow was I wrong. It makes the guitar blossom with sound and tone, or you can strum lightly and get that wonderful aesthetic from a grooving strum. And the control! I can play single lines much quicker. Smooth sound, wonderful control. Absolutely stellar pick.

By the way I'm a longtime owner of a Bluechip thumbpick I use on all my guitars as well. I've used it every day for years and it's like brand new! Anyway, the TD50 is a perfect match for it if you switch between fingerstyle and flatpicking as I do. Both are worth every penny.
