it's a Great Pick , the 40 is perfect for my 1971 Martin D-28 ! I use a TD 35 on my Taylor Dreadnought ! and both work well for me on my Taylor GA -4 12 String ! the Unbelievable thing about these picks is when your fingers get sweaty they hold the best , they don't walk around on you !

The shape and thickness of the TD40 make it super versatile. I've had great results using this pick on all my guitars, playing a variety of styles. I can't comment on it's longevity as I'm a relatively new user, but my initial thoughts are that it's super comfortable to hold, and travels through the string easier, which I think leads to a perceived volume boost. The tone is warmer than other picks of the same thickness, and the attack of each note is clear without being too bright.

For years I've played with inexpensive over the counter, "buy 'em by the bag" flat picks. I play a couple of expensive Gibson F-4 and F-5 mandolins and reasoned that, with the heavy gauge picks I was using, why spend $38 on a single pick? I've been playing in bands nearly 45 years, performing and recording. Traveling around the country with a Bluegrass band is expensive enough so 50 cent picks served me well. Then at a jam session recently, my brother handed me a TD-40 Bluechip pick and said "Try this." The next day I ordered two "over-priced" TD-40 picks (I might lose one). Best music purchase I've made since I bought my Gibson F-5 mandolin. These picks allow me to give the instrument a lighter cleaner touch without giving up volume. And, I guess the best way to describe it, the sound has a crisp, sweet quality I've not experienced before. Wish I'd had my hands on a pick of this quality when I was a beginner. Thanks for a great product at a bargain price.

Absolute sure grip, no clicking, glides across strings beautifully and brings out the full tone potential of my guitar. Flat picking has become a whole new experience for the better. Definitely worth the money.

Love the tone & smoothness with very little pick noise. Hugh improvement over other brands.

It's a little bit stiffer than your basic "celluloid" heavy, but not as thick as an extra heavy.
An amazing pick! There is NO equal.
However Blue Chip makes these, the tone is full and controlled, and the release is perfect.

A few years ago a mom and pop had some store branded picks in varying thicknesses. I grab one loved it went back and grabbed all the thick ones they had. I loved the stiffness the feel and the tone on all my instruments mando to acoustic guitar to electric. Now years later I have not found anything to compare until now. Sadly these Blue chips are expensive but they are the exact same shape as my favorites, the thickness is almost a match, I suspect the 45 would be closest, and they sound just as good. A couple pluses though and a funny observation, I never noticed how much of a raspy feel my old favorites had going across the strings. Once I tried the Bluechip then back to my favorite it was quite noticeable. I really like these blue chips and will continue to buy them. Although I see a few other shapes and thicknesses to try in my future.

I ind using the Blue Chip flatpick has improved my playing as I don't have to grip it so hard to stop the pick rotating. It seems I don't grip the neck so hard as well, consequently it's takes less effort to play.
Good product, but overpriced

I've been using Blue Chip for several years. They don't slip in your fingers, and don't wear out; you have to lose one to justify buying a new one.

I never thought I would buy a pick at the higher price point until I tried one at a jamm. Along with the BC pick I got to try a shell pick and couldn't tell the difference. I couldn't believe the extra sparkle. Then I thought how I love my D 28 and my D 18 and what I payed for them. Just love them!
