made a bigger change to my sound than new strings

Posted by Unknown on 10th Aug 2025

I have a Martin dred that has always just had a bit of a dull acoustic quality. Tried new bridge pins, new strings, bone saddle, under saddle plate mate, you name it. Switching to a blue chip pick made a bigger difference than all the other modifications. Even my non musical wife instantly noticed a difference in a blind shootout with other picks. Only downside is that I don’t want to use anything else now.

    Better than the others

Posted by Unknown on 7th Aug 2025

I’ve used lots of picks over the 50 years I’ve played guitars, and blue chip picks stand out. There is something about their feel and tone that is distinctive and highly enjoyable. More so on acoustic than electric, because these picks make a lot of click and if a particular electric guitar has a pickup close to string contact, I can hear the pick. But, minor issue. And some players might not care.

    I just didn’t know…

…that I was playing with the pick equivalent of wax in my ears until I got this. Blown away. I have a Martin HD-28 and I put Thomastik strings on it. I thought I’d reached the pinnacle of tone—until this pick came into my life.

    Great pick with nice tone

I especially like the difference on acoustic guitar... nice and loud without as much pick noise. Pick glides off of the strings and makes certain swept and string skipping phrases more accurate for me. Looking forward to trying some of the other sizes/thicknesses.

    Found my go-to pick

Posted by Keith Dinsmore on 29th Jul 2025

Fifty years ago, I used tortoiseshell picks. While I loved them, they were pricey and sometimes difficult to find. Forty years ago, I switched to a graphite/carbon-infused pick and have used it ever since. After hearing about Blue Chip, I bought one, and BOOM! It's excellent and exactly what I've been looking for.

    fantastic picks!

Love this Blue Chip. Nice and balanced, but brighter than my TD40 for when I want something a little lighter. Sounds like a 1mm celluloid, but doesn’t wear down like one!

    Birthday present for my friend.

Posted by Matt on 25th Jul 2025

I was told how long I’d have to wait to have the pick engraved. The estimate was right on and it’s exactly what I ordere. My friend is going to love it!!

    Best ever!

My best friend's son (Tucker Conner..check him out) was raving about his so I had to try. The hype is true. It sounds better, it glides easier off the strings, it’s grippy, and they have left hand bevels. This pick is absolutely worth every penny. Do yourself a favor…get one.

    Was an unbeliever, not anymore.

Tone on an electric playing through an SE Studio Special Semi-hollow, Valeton GP-200 and Kali IN8 the tonal difference is minimal, which I attribute to the already dark but clear pickups in the PRS; but the difference in playability was instantly noticable compared to a myriad of plastic/composite picks i tried (ex. Jazz III, medium-X heavy Dunlop). my transitions were smoother, and this specific model (TD35) feels like I get the best of both worlds between a medium and heavier pick. I only wish i believed the type instead of being apprehensive because I really enjoy the plectrum a lot. If the customer service and quality don't falter down the line this customer will be a life long one.
