The CT55 is a pick custom designed by Chris Thile for his personal use. It is very similar in size and shape to our TAD line of picks. However it is only manufactured in 55/1000 of an inch(1.4mm) thickness and has a custom bevel per his specifications. This is the exact pick that Chris Thile is currently using. See his thoughts on this pick on our users page.
Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

I have been using a Wegen, same shape and size. The apparent difference is the holes in the Wegen, and the feel. However, the Blue Chip is just as easy to grip, and It hasn't dropped out of my grip. I'm a hobby player, and learned to play to write songs, so I'm probably not the best judge, but I do like the pick.

I've learnt the hard way that in flatpicking it's the little things that are so important. The CT55 is extremely stable & cuts through strings like a knife through butter with minimal to no string noise. The tone it generates is amazing. My search is finally over.

Had been using Golden Gate picks for mandolin. Amazing how much louder and cleaner the ton is with this pick! And being thinner, makes control easier.

The CT55 produces a crisp yet warm tone, unlike any other pick I have tried. The pick is very fast and doesn’t move around in my hand. I have well over 200 hours of playing on it with zero signs of wear!

The Bluechip has been a tremendous help on my aggressive strumming style :-) Very sturdy and can take quite a beating.

I'm a novice so I really appreciate how it's stays put in my hand . No effort or thought wasted on holding on to it. I also like the way it glides over the strings as if it is lubricated.

This is a great pick. I have been using it for a few months now. It is comfortable to hold and does not slip, which gives it a very accurate string attack. For most of my life I have used medium thickness picks just for helping with the ability to hold onto them easier. This is a much thicker pick, but is easier to hold than any pick I have used before. It gives a clean sound without string scratch. I will buy it again.

Seen a video of Joey Landreth recommending this pick. For acoustic guitar this is the best sounding pick that I have ever used. For electric guitar not much different than some of my favorites but still sounds great. I got a second one for Fathers Day, the TD40, and it sounds just as great. Worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Took me a year to become keen on the idea of spending so much on a single pick, but man am I glad I did! I also never review products, but the quality of this thing is unreal. It’s more fun to pick! My mandolin has become warmer, more responsive, and I feel like I grip this pick better than any other. Y’all got a lifer!

These picks are well worth the money.
