Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 48/1000 of an inch thickness(1.22mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. best picks you can buy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jan 2024

I have been using a TD-45 for the last four or five years and recently tried out the TP-48. It’s the perfect thickness and has an amazing feel in the hand and on the guitar. Something about that in between with the 48 that just feels right. The pick brings out the bass while keeping the overall tone bright and snappy. Great for flat picking

Life long BC customer thanks again!

  2. Great Product 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jan 2024

Just started playing guitar again and am learning to flat pick. Never used a smoother pick before — I primarily played electric guitar, now I’m playing on a Martin D28 with medium gauge strings.

The price is pretty crazy for a pick but I love how it feels—makes it easier to play accurately and to play fast. Haven’t seen deterioration in quality after about 12 hours of practice.

If the durability is good, this is a great pick. Hope it sticks around for a while!

I find the TP48 well suited for my type of playing.
Nice size to hold. Also like the speed bevel.

  4. Finally 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jan 2024

I have finally found a pick that doesn't slide around between my finger and thumb, slip against the strings, and gives a true attack. It's too bad that I need a pick to help me accomplish all of that, true, but I'm happy to have found one that helps me play, and this one does.

  5. Great sound 5 Star Review

I had the TP40 and loved it. Saw the 48 and had to give it a try. The sound is awesome. Slightly deeper tones especially on the bass strings. Great for bluegrass and country, especially on my Martin HD-28V with Martin Retro Tony Rice medium strings.

  6. Great Pick! 5 Star Review

Purchased as a gift for my husband. This is his second and he loves it. Engraving was great, delivery was quick. Highly recommend!

  7. best overall for my flat picking 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Jan 2024

This pick with a bevel turns out to be the sweet spot for my flatpicking- mostly bluegrass and fiddle tunes. Not too thick- not too thin. I have over a dozen blue chips and this is the one I have additional backups for.

  8. Been Needing This Pick 5 Star Review

Great pick all around. Nice feel, good thickness and width. They cost a little more but well worth the money. They are very durable.

  9. Best picks ever for me! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Jan 2024

I've been using Blue Chip Picks for years. I love them! Everybody should use them. I have Jazz and traditional models (for tele and les paul) and recently I wanted to try the TP48 becaues of it's 3 corners and thickness. I love using it on flat top guitar and mandolin. I couldn't be happier! Go Blue Chip! Keep up the good work!

  10. A pick every quality guitar manufacture should send with their guitars. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Dec 2023

I love this pick! It slides very rapidly across the strings( speed bevel option of course). I had a period of acclamation. After which, the clarity and balanced tone of single notes were astonishing. I honestly wish I had found this pick sooner in my life. This changed the sound and tone of my acoustic dreadnought profoundly. Thank you BlueChip for making such a wonderful product!!
