Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 48/1000 of an inch thickness(1.22mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Surprisingly good 4 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Jan 2017

I've been using TAD60 and TAD50 picks and I didn't think the TP48 would be significantly different. BUT surprisingly I like the smaller shape and it's a touch stiffer than the TD45. The clarity is excellent for flatpicking.

  2. Pick Size 4 Star Review

I like your picks. However, the TP48 is wider than I like. Do you have a pick of the same or close thickness that is not as wide.

  3. If your a TP50 user you may want to try the new TP48, it's now go to 5 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Dec 2016

The TP50 was the first pick I purchased over a year ago with these guys , later I tried a couple others but came back to the original one, then I took a shot at the new TP48 and I am very pleased with a slightly thinner pick. And I was surprised how much difference it made for "me", as you know it's all subjective, but I find it smoother for fast strumming on acoustic. Also I had not been using a Blue Chip when playing electric, although now I am finding the TP48 is working really well for me, so it's a win, win! Initially I feared there would be an issue with some flexing that would slow me down when playing lead notes but not the case, seems to be a perfect balance at least for me!

  4. Great Pick!!! 4 Star Review

Wow! Great feel. Pulls good tone! Very comfortable! A little thinner than I anticipated but still will be put to good use. All I use is turtle and this is my first B Chip. Will go for a 60 here shortly. Very happy with this purchase!

  6. great playing pick. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Dec 2016

I normally use a TAD 40, but this pick just plays easier. I've had many different picks in my 56 years of playing guitar, but I always seem to return to the blue chips and the TP 48 so far is the best playing pick of the bunch.

  7. TP 48 is spot on! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2016

I have an assortment of different Blue Chip pics as I have searched for the one that I like best. Not sure what it is, but the TP 48 seems to give me everything I'm looking for in a pic. Tone, speed, and even the hope that playing the same pic Bryan Sutton plays might somehow increase my abilities... :-)

  8. Perfect pick for me 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2016

I have used various picks of different shapes, sizes, materials, thicknesses, bevels over many years of playing guitar, and this one is exactly the right size and shape, produces the tone my ears want to hear, and feels the best in my hand of any pick I've ever used. I've had some Blue Chip picks, too, TDs and TP1Rs from 35-50, and somehow this 48 is to me noticebly livelier and sweeter in tone than even the TP1R-50. It's my Holy Grail guitar pick!

  9. best picks in the world! 5 Star Review

I have tried many many picks.......the blue chip is the best for tone and feel......love the new TP 48. Just enough tone and the tip bevel add speed......

  10. Who knew? 5 Star Review

Never knew a pick could make such a difference in both tone and performance. Now if I can stop contributing to the "Great Pick Exchange", and not lose them!
