Product Description

The TP is our classic triangular pick in a 48/1000 of an inch thickness(1.22mm). The TP is the same size as the TPR, but has slightly sharper corners. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. You need to stop looking and buy BlueChip picks. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Apr 2024

I’m old, been playing guitar for 50+ years. I have never been satisfied with a pick, even real tort, until now. These BlueChip picks sound just as good as tort, and never need to be reshaped. I now have four of these, for different EQ tones (bright, neutral, dark, etc). I can’t even begin to imagine how much money I spent over the last 50 years on other picks. Don’t complain about the price tag until you try one. You’ll understand, and you’re welcome. JS

  2. jury is still out for me 4 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Apr 2024

I think it is three stars for me at this point, but I rated as four stars because it just might be due to my preferences and not the product. I think the product plays very well advertised and glides through the strings well. However, it seems a lot brighter than I’m used to, and the point is a little bit more pointy than I like while the rounded version looks way too round. So I guess I’m somewhere in between. On the thickness, I got the 48, my friend has the CT55. Of the two I might like the CT 55, as I thought I was going to get that overall dimension, which is bigger than the 48. I thought that I would want something thinner than what is specifically for Mando, that’s why I got the 48 and 55, but it seems thinner than I’m used to as well. This could be the reason for the brightness mentioned above too.

I guess I just need to commit to using it more and more to get more used to it but at this point, I steer more towards my old pic due to thickness, brightness, and size.

I have a TP60 and just purchased a TP48. Both very smooth but the 48 is a little louder with a little more high end. Love them!

  5. Great mandolin and flat picking guitar Pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Mar 2024

Love this pick. I use if foor my mandolins and my acoustic guitars (Collings OM and D1). According to Bryan Sutton (on social media) -- he uses this one and Billy Strings likes it as well. I met Billy back in 2014 after his show at the Sellersville, Theatre, in PA -- and at that time he was using the Blue Chip CT 55. I love that pick also. Regards, Arleigh

  6. Tone/service exceeded my expectations 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Mar 2024

When I finally decided to order from BlueChip Picks, I decided to ship it to my hotel room in Nashville. I was flying into town to watch Billy Strings play for the weekend. I made a hotel change between the order and the shipping date. Both Destiney and Matthew were more than helpful with my order change. I received the package at my new hotel within four days of ordering it (on a holiday week too).

They even engraved my name in the pick. Very cool.

When I finally got home, I went back to playing my gigs and although it took me a few songs to adjust to the larger pick (I was using the Dunlop prime tone 1.0 picks). I was able to get a rounder attack, which to me sounded warmer. I had to adjust my tonebone pz-pro eq to accommodate the tonal change.

Thanks for making such a great product. I went and purchased another one right away at Carter Vintage Guitars after I felt the quality in my hands.

    Many thanks,
    Neil

  8. Great Pick! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Feb 2024

It took me a second to get used to my Blue Chip pick. Once I got used to it, it performed as promised. It's Quick! And it definitely eliminates a lot of 'string scratch'. I'm a fan for sure! Thank you!
