Product Description

This is the TAD-3R pick in 50/1000th of an inch(1.25mm) thickness. It is identical to the TAD, but HAS THREE ROUNDED CORNERS. All of our picks are professionally machined, hand beveled, and laser etched.

Quarters, Nickels and Dimes, if included in the pictures, are for size reference only. They are not etched on the picks or included with the sale. To use this reference, please place a coin on your current non-Bluechip pick and then compare to the pictures of our picks with coins on top of them. This will help you choose the pick that is closest to your current favorite size and shape.

  1. Just Do It 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Jul 2022

Do yourself a favor and buy one of these. I wrestled with the price point for over a year before I bought some Blue Chip Picks. You have no idea just how much resistance ordinary picks have when compared to blue chip. There is a smoothness and sweetness that comes from the instrument when played with blue chips. Any video online does not do them any justice. You have to experience it for yourself.

  2. Best Pick I've Ever Had 5 Star Review

Just purchased by third Blue Chip. I have two for my flattop and one for my mandolin. Playing Bluegrass Music, it gives me the best sound and control of any pick I've ever used.

The rounded points make for a warm tone quality.

  4. Blue Chip. The best! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Apr 2021

I’ve played the TAD50-1R for years. Now have a guitar that sounds best on the “R” point so have switched to the TAD50-3R for this guitar. Now I don’t have to make sure I’m playing on the right point. Love the sound a Blue Chip gives all my guitars. I believe the right pick makes all the difference. Try a Blue Chip - you won’t regret it. But have it engraved with your name so it’ s identifiable as yours!

  5. It's a great pick! (pun intended) 5 Star Review

I have several Blue Chip picks and I wanted a triangle with a bit more rounded edges. The sound, feel, and quality of these picks are amazing!

  6. TPR50 - 3R Simply the Best. 5 Star Review

The TAD50 - 3R has a very smooth attack and fast. The size allows me to choke up or down to get the desired sound I want to voice songs accordingly.

  7. The tone I really like !! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Apr 2020

The rounded corners takes the tinny sound out of the guitar. Normal play with rounded edges of the TD pick, but really like the TAD 3 R. Its larger and easier to hold. I get the more mellow sound from the rounded corners that I enjoy. Play all bluegrass and the 50 is perfect. Going to try a 60 eventually, but like the 50 so much, not sure that it could be as good, or any better.

  8. Best Pick EVER! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Mar 2020

The TAD50-3R is the best mandolin pick I've ever used. It just feels good in my hand and doesn't slip. It provides excellent attack and follow through on the strings, resulting in great tone.

  9. Once you try a Blue Chip You can't go back 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Oct 2019

These picks feel great in the hands. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but not slippery and not rough. They also sound like better. My teacher put one into my hands and I've had a hard time going back to other picks.

  10. Best mandolin Blue Chip pick 4 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Sep 2019

I ordered a TAD50-3R Blue Chip pick to play mandolin and it is excellent.. ...I took the advice of another mandolin player....3 nicely rounded corners that enable me to play the mandolin faster with more control......Best picks.....I am very pleased... These great picks help my 79 year old fingers to hold the picks better....They are worth the cost.....
